Packing for a European or International Move

Lund Conlon has as many years of experience in moving people to Europe and Internationally as it has within the UK.

The packing process is largely the same for moves further afield. However, extra padding and covering will be used to minimize movement during transport.

As the packing commences, the team will complete a comprehensive inventory of all your belongings as each box is filled or item wrapped.

Our experienced pre-move surveyor will provide you beforehand with the customs regulations pertaining to your destination country.

Depending on where in the world your consignment needs to go, your effects could travel by sea, air, or road.

International consignments are generally containerised, and sent by sea.

Journey times vary according to country, but, it can take several weeks for your consignment to arrive at its destination countries port of entry.

It is vital that everything is secure and well packed as these large vessels often encounter rough seas.

Long road journeys are subject to a lot of vibration which can sometimes result in load shifting.

Protecting and securing the load tightly is  imperative.

Insurance

At Lund Conlon we pride ourselves on delivering a first-class service.

No matter how meticulously our moves are carried out, there are risks involved which are outside our control. Transporting your consignment is a classic example.

We pack and load your effects with utmost care and attention. However, there is always a possibility, however slight, that an accident could occur whilst they are in transit.

This is why we offer our customers insurance cover.

If you provide us with an insurance declaration of the value of your goods, the amount of our liability to you in the event of loss or damage to those goods will be a maximum of £50,000.

We can accept insurance liability for a higher amount, in which case we may make an additional charge.

If you decide not to take out any insurance with us, you may find your own house insurance has some form of cover for goods in transit.

For anything we move for you which is not covered by either your own or our insurance, in the event of any loss or damages, caused by negligence or breach of contract on our part.

Our liability to you will be assessed as a sum equivalent to the cost of their repair or replacement, subject to a maximum liability of £40 per item.

Shopping in Wellingborough

The town centre can trace its origins back to the 6th Century Saxon period when Saxon Chief ‘Waendel’ made settlement here.

Granted its charter way back in 1201, the market is as popular today as it ever was. The market square is overlooked by the steeple of All Hallow’s Church.

Operated and owned by North Northamptonshire Council market days are held four days per week. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday

In the centre of town are two main shopping areas.

The Swansgate Shopping Centre is large and has around 40 stores including Home Bargains, Boots and New Look. Plus, there are several banks, travel agents and building societies.

Parking is no issue as there is an onsite car park providing 1000 spaces.

Nene Court compliments the Swansgate Centre but offers a completely different shopping experience. A range of individual shops, cafes and businesses provide a more intimate atmosphere.

Located in what was originally the Wellingborough Gas Light Co., Nene Court’s 1990’s Victorian buildings were converted into shops. It is a lovely place to spend time browsing.

Supplementing the town centre shops are several out-of-town retail parks and supermarkets including a Sainsbury’s, four Tesco stores, an Aldi store.

For a change, you are very conveniently close to other locations such as Northampton, Milton Keynes.

The A45 dual carriageway skirting to the south links the town with the A14, and M1 which also allows links to the east and west of the country.

The busy London Luton Airport can also be reached by car relatively quickly.

Luton sits around 40 miles south of Wellingborough a journey of approximately one hour and 5 minutes.

Cambridge is almost a direct route. It can be accessed following the main A14 pretty much all the way from the town with a short detour via the M11. An ideal direct route for work and pleasure purposes.
